XML stopped loading. Microsoft to blame?

      Hello,

I have a Flash piece that loads data from a local XML file to populate a newsbox (see it at www.ocls.info). This has been working fine for months for Flash Players 6 and up. I have made no changes to the Flash and the XML is still well-formed. However, starting on the 10th of July, various people around the office have been reporting that the XML is no longer loading. It has started on different days for different people, but the first case was on the 10th. All these people have Flash Player 7. However, one person with Flash Player 7 has no trouble with the XML. The problem is solved by upgrading to the most recent Flash Player. Rather than force all our users to upgrade, even though they should, I would like to find what is at the bottom of this.

The only thing I can think of that has happened recently, is that Microsoft released a new automatic update within the past few days. The problem with this theory is that I have Flash 7 on a Win2000 box that is showing the same problem. The problem is browser independent, so it has nothing to do with IE's ActiveX woes, which we have already bypassed.

I am baffled. Can anyone offer an explanation why the XML would spontaneously stop loading for Flash Player 7 only? Many thanks!

      Nils
