Mac installation?

Hello.  I have Mac OS 10.5.8.  I'm trying to install Adobe flash player 10.1.183.43.  I started by uninstalling my previous version, which was outdated.  The progress bar gets stuck, and I tried manual installation.  On manual installation, the message I receive is: The installer could not install the software because there is no software to install.  Norton Antivirus is disabled.  Any help is appreciated!

Flash Player 10.3.183.43 is the latest version supported on Mac 10.5.
