1. Re: "Some Export Functions Were Not Performed"
DanRVM Dec 3, 2012 7:58 AM (in response to DanRVM)I may have discovered the culprit. I use GoodSync to keep files in sync between several computers at home and away. I disabled the automatic synchronization while I was editing but forgot to disable GoodSync Connect which behaves as an intermediary to facilitate connections outside of the same network. Once disabled, I also rebooted and the error has yet to appear. Though rebooting may have solved the issue, I suspecting GoodSync Connect.

DanRVM Dec 3, 2012 10:27 AM (in response to DanRVM)Still having issues... Seems rebooting gains me some time but the problem cames back - sometimes with a couple files, other times with several.

3. Re: "Some Export Functions Were Not Performed"
DanRVM Dec 3, 2012 11:13 AM (in response to DanRVM)I've learned a little more about the issue.
When there is a failure to export, Lightroom actually creates an invalid file (in my case a JPG) in the destination folder. When I try to delete that file, Windows reports the following:
"The action can't be completed because the file is open in Adobe PHotoshop Lightroom 64-bit."
If I shut down Lightroom, I can delete the file. Then, if I re-launch Lightroom and try the export again, it often works.

Cornelia-I Dec 3, 2012 1:59 PM (in response to DanRVM)LR should also create a special temporary collection for the images where such export problems have been encountered. You should find it in the top left section below All Photographs.
You could try to export directly again from that collection. If it was a temporary issue for the first time, it might work the second time.

DanRVM Dec 3, 2012 2:01 PM (in response to Cornelia-I)Thank you. Right now I'm suspecting Adobe PhotoShop Elements' watching of my destination folder. I've tried disabling PSE's "watch folders" and will see how it goes.

Cornelia-I Dec 3, 2012 2:12 PM (in response to DanRVM)Yes, make sure that your export destination is without access from other software while LR is exporting.
Be that some cloud synch software, virus scan or other watching stuff.
Good luck, Cornelia

7. Re: "Some Export Functions Were Not Performed"
DanRVM Dec 4, 2012 1:40 PM (in response to Cornelia-I)More detail...
I eliminated GoodSync, Windows 8 Photo app, and Adobe PhotoShop Elements Organizer as the root of the problems as I was still experiencing the inability to export with these services totally disabled.
I still do not know the cause of the problem but when LR4 exports a file that it said it couldn't do successfully it creates an illegitimate JPG file in the destination folder and I am unable to delete the bad JPG file because LIGHTROOM has a lock on it.
I'm wondering if it is a Windows 8 issue.
Anyone else?

knockonthesky79 Jul 25, 2013 11:22 AM (in response to DanRVM)Hi Dan,
I just started having this problem. I have windows 8, have had the new computer for 7 months now and no issues until today. Now I cannot export any photos because of this. Last night when I could export 3, my watermark was not showing up. Been trouble shooting it and so solve yet.
