Why are paragraph styles in new table columns always overridden by "align: flush left"?

Paragraph styles in newly inserted table columns seem to be overridden by align: flush left. I've tried on different documents and computers, in CS4 and CS6, but I always get the same thing.

      The help file reads:

Place the insertion point in a column next to where you want the new column to appear.

Choose Table > Insert > Column.

Specify the number of columns you want.

Specify whether the new column or columns should appear before or after the current column, and then click OK.

The new cells have the same formatting as the text in the column in which the insertion point was placed.

The last line above (from the help file) doesn't mention that text alignment is not the same as it was in the column with the insertion point, but is overridden by another horizontal alignment.

      Overrides: (align: flush left)

It doesn't seem to be right.

      Is it a bug?

Please comments on this. Should I file it as a bug?
