I completed my 30 day trial of photo shop. I then purchased the program but it says my serial number is invalid?

Your order history show you purchased Photoshop Elements 11. You've mentioned in post that you were trying Photoshop. Both are different software and have different serial keys. Can you confirm the products you were trying?
