I'm loading video content paths from an external XML file into the FLVPlayback component. The issue I'm having is that the progressive download action is so inconsistent, sometimes it plays the video right away as the video is playing, and sometimes it does not play the video at all until the entire video is completely loaded. I would like to have the video play right away as the video is downloaded. I'm banging my head against the wall on this one. Any ideas?
/*--- autoplay is checked in the components inspector ---*/
playback1.contentPath = getNodeValue(findNode(videos, "one"));
for a particular video, if you clear your cache is there any inconsistency between the time when you start assign the contentPath and when the video starts playback?
Thanks for the reply to my question. When I clear my cache, it still is the same. For faster connections, there seems to be no issue, but when I throttle down to slower connections (512K). Sometimes it runs and sometimes it doesn't.
I've tried using the load() method and force the player to play using .play(). Also, tested for >50b loaded and then force the play in a process listener. Oddly, enough when I put the FLV path directly into the component inspector's path field, it doesn't do this even on slower connections.
