There have been reports of the very latest updates to CS6 causing problems with opening old files. What version number is reported when you run About Photoshop command?
Photoshop CS6 13.1 x64.
I have indeed recently updated Photoshop. The files I try to open are made a few months ago.
Other users have rolled back to 13.0.1 to solve the problem until Adobe fixes it.
Is there a way you can share a very small version of a file that will not open in Photoshop 13.1? I'm sure that if Adobe folks are given a reproducible problem there's a greater chance of a quick solution.
- How do I roll back? I have a creative cloud subscription.
- I could send a version (560MB) trough wetransfer or so but don't know where to. And the artwork is not to be used for other perposes because I could get problems (losing client).
If the file has layer styles (and certain values for light angle) - we know about the issue, have sample files, and are testing fixes for it now.
Is there any progress with this?
I got the same problem. Photoshop file originally made in CS4 and edited in CS6 like a month ago. Now I reopened it and first it says "This document was created with a different text engine option, please open" .. and so on. I have East Asian option (default) on. I can change it but the photoshop starts acting slow and laggy. But that's a another story.
I've done preference reset. Not helping. In CS6 errorlog there is last log 14.03.2013
So I made a test: Create new document in CS4 and open it in CS6. Works fine. So I guess the problematic file has corrupted somehow.
Any suggestions? What do you need to know?
My Photoshop version is 13.0.1 x64 and on OS X 10.8.3
This was fixed several months ago.
And you should be on 13.0.4 or 13.1.2 if you are on MacOS..
Okey. Hmm that's weird. Why my photoshop have not updated.. Will have to look on that
