patrickbjohnson Jan 17, 2013 6:33 AM (in response to gd2012)I see a similar issue while using the 3d extrude/bevel effect in AI cs6. When I copy the data from AI CS6 to PS CS6 a white line appears where shapes intersect. I had to open up PS CS5 and paste my data to there then save out, the issue doesn't happen in cs5.
Please advise how I may use this workflow in cs6 without interruption.

gd2012 Jan 17, 2013 7:58 AM (in response to patrickbjohnson)In my case the problem turned out to be PTHPasteboard, an application I use that interferes with the clipboard. Only turning it off solved the problem. Perhaps you are having a similar issue?

6. Re: Copy/Paste From Illustrator CS6 to Photoshop CS6 Issues
wyzz7 Jan 24, 2013 1:01 PM (in response to patrickbjohnson)I am having a similar problem, but along the same lines...
When I drag an Illstrator file into Photoshop, it does not function the same way it did in CS5. When I rotate the image, even a degree, in Photoshop it becomes blurry. And then if I rotate it back to zero degrees, it stays blurry. Until you resize it. Then it sharpens back up to normal. It's the weirdest thing I've seen in CS6 to date. It can handle Smart Objects within itself just fine, but anything dragged over from Illustrator, cannot handle being rotated. Likewise, I have noticed this "white line border" issue when I was working with yellow text. In one Photoshop doc, I had it as editable text, in the other document I had it as a Smart Object layer and scaled it down. The Smart Object had the discolored lines around the outside of the text. Almost like a border. Something is up with the way Photoshop handles Vectors and Smart Ojects. It's failing me and I have no ideas.

Marwin Brandt Feb 15, 2013 6:14 AM (in response to gd2012)I have the some problem as everyone else. White lines that appear on 3D chapes when copied in to photoshop. I looks like crap, and when I scale them before placing them they also become blured. Any fix?

conroy Feb 15, 2013 6:42 AM (in response to Marwin Brandt)The safest thing to do is size the artwork in Illustrator then export PNG at reqired ppi and place the PNG in Photoshop.

Marwin Brandt Feb 15, 2013 6:46 AM (in response to conroy)Thank you! Still it is not optimal, since it worked just fine in CS5. I use a retina display, has that anything to do with it? Thanks again!

conroy Feb 15, 2013 7:15 AM (in response to Marwin Brandt)I don't know whether Retina is implicated in vector-rendering problems with the latest CS6. I use Ps 13.0.1 on OS X 10.6.8 and don't have a Retina display.

12. Re: Copy/Paste From Illustrator CS6 to Photoshop CS6 Issues
patrickbjohnson Feb 15, 2013 7:28 AM (in response to conroy)This is not the most ideal solution. We would lose the illustrator properties as a smart object.
I'm running an imac 2011 with mountain lion btw.

I realize that and I'm only trying to help with a workaround.
Also, you can keep the Illustrator file and, if it is edited in future, re-export a new PNG for Photoshop. When PNG is placed as Smart Object in Ps, the SO is easily updated with a new PNG by using the Replace Contents command. All instances of the SO in a document will instantly update.

First, you should not be using Ps 13.0. Many bugs have been fixed since the initial release. Also, you need newer than 13.0.1 for Retina support. Update to 13.0.4 (or 13.1.2 if you're a Creative Cloud subscriber).
I have experienced problems in 13.0.1 with imported vector artwork:
Imported vector objects can be sized incorrectly by a few pixels in width or height.
Inaccurate rendering of vectors that should be pefectly pixel-aligned, even when the first problem does not occur.
Hideous resampling of raster elements of scaled Vector Smart Objects.

Hi.
When copying a gradient filled shape from illustrator CS6 to photoshop CS6 an outline "halo" appears in the photoshop image although the shape has no outline to begin with. Is this a clipboard issue? Is it an anti-aliasing setting I can change? Apparently it isn't as noticeable when I drag the shape from illustrator to photoshop as it is when using the copy/paste command. But in both situations there seem to be issues in the border when gradient filled shapes touch other shapes. Please help if you know how.
In Illustrator, try a blue shape underneath the butted-together rotated rectangles so seams do not become apparent when rasterized.
