whatalotofrubbish Dec 18, 2012 3:23 AM (in response to MichaelKazlow)In the past, when uninstalling older versions, some web sites were left hanging with a complete re-write needed before Dreamweaver could be used to edit them. I'm talking about the time when the switch from asp to PHP took place. Even now, I have web sites that were written in earlier versions of PHP and MySQL that probably could have problems with a new installation of Xamp and CS6.
When doing an upgrade, I usually do it on my latest computer and leave the old version on my older one as backup to allow me to edit older sites.
So thanks for your advice. I will uninstall the program from my current machine, and install the upgrade on it.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

Bob Levine Dec 18, 2012 4:28 AM (in response to MichaelKazlow)They should. Uninstalling after the fact tends to break file associations.
