With one license you can have 2 installs normally. I have one PREL9 on Mac and one on my PC laptop.
When my PC crashed 3 months ago, I had the same issue as I wanted to uninstall the Vista install and
the PC had crashed. So I contacted the support by chat (I am in Europe), and they verified my license number then
modified temporarely their database to allow me to install PREL9 on my new laptop.
Things worked fine. I encourage you to try this way to solve your problem.
Thank you for that JMJarrige. I have contacted online chat twice and they gave me the telephone contact. I rang them today and was told they no longer provide support for Elements 9.
Sorry for you. But what you are calling for is not a support issue of Release 9, it is clearly an install issue !
Adobe should take care of that.
I used chat communication nightly (in Europe), at 11 pm here, kept an Indian support engineer who was
able to solve my problem, after verifying I was registered well in their database.
Did you try to install on your new Mac directly ? Could work perhaps.

I took your advice and contacted chat support again and the support officer was very helpful and resolved it for me.
