Why is exporting/encoding a 3 to 5 minute video would take 45 to an 1 to finish? I feel something is not right, this is taking too long. The last 2 days, when I try to export videos that are 3 to 5 minutes long, it was very quick, it would only take about 5 to 7 mintues long. Now and before that it's always very long to encode.
I am using an imac 27inch, intel core i7, 8gb of ram and a 10.6.8 version. My settings on the adobe premiere are usually H.264, 5 bitrate, 1280x720 or 640x360. 2 pass, 23. 976 fps. Can someone please tell me is it usually just like this long or I can set my setting so it's quicker and without losting quality?

Do you have any Effects added to the Clips?
Also, what are the full specs. of your I/O, i.e. your HDD's, their size, speed, controller type, and how they are allocated?
