In order to view this page so that the font is about 10 points, I have to press ctrl+ about three times. Then it becomes readable. My eysight is not all that bad, as I can read down the to the end of the next but last line on a standard UK eyesight test. However, on all the CS6 programs, the interface uses what looks like a 6 point text on a dark gray background with a different gray text color.
This is basically unreadable, and I can find nothing in the limited help files provided that tells me how to fix this.
Some of the programs do have an option to pick from three colors of background, and another for the highlight color. However these have been poorly chosen, and are of little help with the exception of the black option, which if set to the highest brightness, is slightly more readable.
The solution would be for the user to be able to select a different icon and text size. This may be possible but so far I have not managed to find how to do it.
It will reduce the available amount of screen, at the advantage of having a usable product.
The specification for screen resolution is 1280×800 display with 16-bit video card. Have you ever tried buying a laptop with such a card installed? I searched everywhere in the UK for one and was unsuccessful, eventually buying a 17" Soni Vaio with an Intel i7 processor and a 1980 x 1080 display. It is lightning fast with CS5.5 but runs like a slug with CS6. (Win7 ultimate)
As with all LCD screens, if you reduce the resolution from the native display, your screen reduces in size with it. If I set the resolution to 1280x 800, I get a warning that some items may not show on the screen, and I get a small rectangle in the middle of the screen to work in.
When not using the laptop, I use Windows 7 Professional with a pair of monitors, one 22" and one 20". Similar problems exist on these, but I can just about read the icons as the screens are larger.
What size screens do Adobe developers use to run their CS6, and is there an option to change icon and text sizes?
