If you target A1, does the Lock box come back, in the Track Header?
You are not quite at the top of the Audio Track.
Go over to the right hand side of the audio track timeline window and move the vertical slider to the top.
Drag the separator division between Audio and Video Timelines up.
Reboot comp. Start Premiere with holding down Alt+Shift until welcome screen.
This will set Premiere to default settings.
Also check your graphicscard driver if its the latest.
VERY observant of you. that was the problem!
This was never encountered by me before - this was the first time I had a few audio tracks and the slider was required. That's why I was so puzzled.
