Go do the Sony website and download the file conversion software. Use that to import the footage. What version of AE???? That would help.
I'm using AE CS6
That answer is a bit vague. I can import the .mp4 files on another machine with After Effects CS6 without any hassle.
My machine on the other hand is not budging at all. I simply don't have time to convert all the footage into another format.
Any other advice?
Make sure you don't have any 3rd party codecs installed that are conflicting with the Sony footage. Make sure you transferred the footage from the Sony storage in the right manner. I still don't know enough about your system to suggest more than that.
Thanks for the reply Rick.
I uninstalled all the codecs I knew was on the system.
My system specs:
Intel i7 3.4Ghz
16GB DDR Memory
GTX 590 GPU
256 Solid State Drive
3TB Seagate HDD
I'm going to try installing my old version of AE, CS5.5, if it opens it that I will use that to work with.
If not the only option I can think of is to format the SS and to rre-install Windows.
