What kind of video, and what are your export settings?
Showing your export settings screen might help - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/592070?tstart=30
Also... rendering is what you do to make the timeline play better, exporting is when you create a new file

sorry im exporting a HD 1920*1080 50hz to an .avi format...its taking around 40gb of my hard disk...moreover i have to put it into a pendrive of 8 gb so what can i do to reduce the file size???
The main question would be what do you want to DO with the file you export?
Premiere Export Formats http://help.adobe.com/en_US/mediaencoder/cs/using/WS725e431141e7ba651e63e3d1267818bc51-800 0.html lists what you may export... but you need to describe the purpose of your export before anyone may advise on the codec you should use
Encode as H264 HD
That would workout at around 200MB ish
