Try taking QuickTime out of the equation. (Get AVI versions, instead.)
I am having the same problem! The footage works fine in CS 5.5, but in CS 6, it's all white in Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Encore (using Dynamic Link to bring the sequence in from Premiere).
In response to Jim, I don't think asking for AVI versions is the solution - going back and asking for footage in a different format (especially if you were given a relatively standard format) would feel stunningly unprofessional to me. Clearly, this is a problem that is new to CS 6, and not being able to handle a widely used format is in my mind unacceptable...and unaccountable, since I can't figure out what would be behind it.
Hey did you ever find a fix?? I just installed all the CC updates and have the exact same problem with ALL footage in Premiere. The thumbnails look fine, but hover scrubbed over or opened, turns all white while audio still plays. Even offline media markers do this. Meanwhile though everything's fine in AE.
You might wanna convert the footage yourself if you're in a rush. DVCPROHD gave me some trouble back in CS4 days and... I haven't used it since.
The nifty little EframeConverter program can make some ProRes outa that DVCPROHD.
Thanks but it's not just AVC-HD footage for me, it's literally everything.
It can be a jpeg photo and I still get a white screen.
All in a Quicktime container, I suppose?
No, any kind of container, any kind of file format, any kind of codec -
literally everything comes in white.
According to other messages I have read, PProCC VERY OFTEN requires a graphics adapter update
What is your brand/model graphics adapter, and your device driver version?
If you have nVidia... How to determine your nVidia driver version
Right click in any open area of the Windows desktop
Select NVIDIA Control Panel from the popup window
Select SYSTEM INFORMATION at the lower left corner
Driver version should be the 1st line in Details
I have a GTX285 using driver 296.10 and Win7
I figured it out, it happens if you have Mercury Playback Engine GPU selected on a system with a nonsupported GPU!
Just go into Project Settings and switch it to software - problem solved!
