keyframe doesn't move from current point in time

I've been using Premiere for a while, I have a pretty standard workflow for animation movement:

      • set initial keyframe
      • move the time slider
      • reposition clip
      • move the time slider
      • reposition clip
      • adjust keyframes as needed afterwards

Something has changed! After moving the time slider, when I reposition the clip, no apparent change occurs. All that is shown is the animation curve and bounding boc moving with my mouse, while the clip stays stationary. What seems to be happening is that the keyframe is actually adjusting the initial keyframe, as if I were at that point in time.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything that can be done? What is causing this?

A little update: It seems, for the time being, that nesting the video, and animating the nested layer works around the issue.
