Template: Modify and Update Editable Region

    surfstoke Level 1
Using a template, I want to create an editable template region that i can also modify later (in the template) and apply the changes to the associated pages, even if I loose my edits in the pages. can this be done in MX 2004 or ver 8?

Use a server-side include file in that editable region. You get the best of
          both worlds then.

Oh yes... already doing that in another site. oops. Now further with this:

The SSI would be an image based nav menu with up, over and down. Do you know of a simple page highlight script for an imaged based menu? I know there are well documented ways to do this with a text based CSS menu and I hear that the FW option is not good (better to use P7 PMM). But, any simple script to set a nav bar image on load based on the page that loads?

            Thanks!

It's trivial to do with server scripting. Are you familiar with any
              scripting methods?

If you are using PHP you could check the section in David Powers' excellent
Foundation PHP for Dreamweaver 8, on how to create a PHP controlled menu.
                  It's all explained in that.
