More information needed for someone to help... please click these links and provide the requested information
No error messages on install. Using windows 7
Like I posted, no error message. Nothing happens when I attempt to start the program. I've been using premier elements 8 for sometime without any problems.
I do have NCHSoftware's Golden Video capture program installed on this computer. Could that be the problem
I am not familiar with that program, but some other products CAN conflict with PrE.
Before you uninstall that program, however, I would get the make and model of your video card, and also the version and date of the installed video driver. Go to the video card's mfgr's. Web site, and check to see if that is the latest version. If not, download and install the latest driver, rebooting, when prompted. Test if PrE now opens. Do not trust your OS, or any utility to tell you, if you have the latest video driver. They will likely be at least 6 mos. out of date, and with video drivers, 6 mos. is a lifetime.
