1. Re: Bank edit page
RogerGG Feb 22, 2008 1:04 PM (in response to 12towers)I've had the same problem recently. It's been difficult to track down any solution because the behavior is somewhat inconsistent. I've tried switching themes (using a WordPress blog); opening the same theme, but in a different blog; and editing the blog in Contribute on a different machine. Each time, I think I've got onto something, but not consistently, so I can't nail it down.
If anyone else has had the same issue (blog theme display completely disappearing when you try to edit a post) and have any answers/solutions, I'd love to hear about it.
A related problem I've come across as I've tested and retested this, is having the page display correctly, but with the content area's white background dropping out (the <body> background shows through, making it impossible to see the type). I'm not sure that this is the same issue... I suspect that it's related to the theme's CSS stylesheet. But still, it would be nice if the pages that display correctly in Contribute's preview mode would display in edit mode. Otherwise, what's the point in using it?

RogerGG Feb 24, 2008 9:10 AM (in response to 12towers)12towers,
I think I've found the answer. The problem seems to be something that gets skewed in the preferences file while the initial connection is being made. I think it's that the Blog Template isn't collected or referenced properly.
I discovered this the hard way by removing the Contribute Preferences file from my Preferences folder. After I did that, I added the misbehaving blog again by making a new connection, and when I tested it, it displayed fine. The only problem is that when I removed the old Preferences file, I also lost all the other connections I had established in Contribute.
I restored the old preferences file and got all of my connections back (I have quite a few sites and blogs I manage for myself and my wife), but when I tried editing a page on the blog in question, the page was blank again.
The solution was to remove that blog from my list of connections, and then re-establish it as a new connection (I quit out of Contribute and relaunched it in between, just because I'm superstitious). This time it retrieved the Template intact and it's working fine.
I hope that helps you with your problem, too.
Cheers,

3. Bank edit page
RogerGG Feb 24, 2008 9:40 AM (in response to 12towers)One more solution... Once I found that the problem was with the Blog Template, I did a search on that and found this post

I tried it on a different blog with a similar issue and it didn't solve the issue for me, but it's still worth a try anyway.
