1. Re: AME has a massive memory leak
JSS1138 Jan 5, 2013 9:59 AM (in response to Airdoo)I can't answer the question, but I'm curious why you'd reserve 54 GB for other apps. For me, the whole point of getting 64GB of memory would be to use it.

2. Re: AME has a massive memory leak
Airdoo Jan 5, 2013 10:09 AM (in response to JSS1138)I did it in order to test that there was indeed a memory leak, I had intended on given CS6 50GB or so, though when I could no longer do anything because of all of my RAM was being USED I started to investigate. The other interesting thing is that the memory simple "disappears" as in no program claims to be using it, even though the system reports that all 64GB are in use. Also the "remaining" timer continues to increase in length even though AME is making progress with the file.

JSS1138 Jan 5, 2013 3:52 PM (in response to Airdoo)What are you using to monitor RAM usage?

5. Re: AME has a massive memory leak
JSS1138 Jan 6, 2013 10:55 AM (in response to Airdoo)Try Process Explorer from Microsoft instead. It gives some pretty detailed info about exactly which process is using how much memory.

6. Re: AME has a massive memory leak
Airdoo Jan 6, 2013 1:02 PM (in response to JSS1138)And magically everything settled out Adobe products are only using the set amount I gave them and is actuallty getting work done. So thank you Jim. You've fixed it! Though neither one of us actually knows what caused the fix. I still that this issue is worth looking into by a dev. I'll slowly give CS6 more RAM to play with and see if there is a spot at which it freaks out.

7. Re: AME has a massive memory leak
Airdoo Jan 6, 2013 8:34 PM (in response to Airdoo)Nevermind, I just loaded new media in to encode and it's happening again. So now it's a little more than an annoyance. I'll provide as much information as you need in order to fix this, since I would love to continue using this product.

8. Re: AME has a massive memory leak
JSS1138 Jan 6, 2013 9:00 PM (in response to Airdoo)Well, there's nothing I can do to fix it. I'm just a user like you.
But do use Process Explorer and post a screen shot of what you see when the issue occurs.

9. Re: AME has a massive memory leak
Airdoo Jan 7, 2013 2:24 AM (in response to JSS1138)Will do, though nothing appear to be out of the ordinary other than RAM usage is at 100% when the total clearly isn't 100%.
