I have an existing 250-page book to manipulate via liquid layout. I have at least 500 text and image frames to tag one by one (object-based, left or right, etc). Isn't there a way to find/change text frames or image frames by giving them liquid layout settings? That could make at least part of the job in a few seconds?
Similarly, for newly-created indd, is there a way to predefine how text or image frames (or any kind of object-styled frame) will behave when creating an alternate layout? That should be an object style setting.
I think the only way this can be done is with a script. I've got a
script which copies Export Tagging options based on Object Styles (see
under the scripting tab on www.freelancebookdesign.com). I could write
you one to do something similar with liquid layout options. Contact me
if you're interested.
I think the liquid layout feature is half baked yet, and demands some overhaul in 2017.1.
I just started to use it, and stumbled upon an obstacle the engine cant provide a solution:
In object based liquid layout "text frames" are missing an option to "scale text content" instead of just scaling the box causing reflow.
Re: Liquid Layout #1 try…"object based" and text boxes/
Also, to deal with Mausole37's problem in future, i would bake the liquid layout: object based options per object into the object stylesheets.
