Trying to come up with a HD configuration for my new Desktop rig running Premiere Pro CS6. I'll be editing mainly Canon DSLR footage and occasionally some AVCHD.
I currently have five drives. Here's what I'm thinking...
C: 256 GB Crucial SSD - Windows & programs
E: 1TB WD Black - Project files, audio files, image files and misc documents
F: 1TB WD Black - Scratch
G: 1TB WD Black - Media
H: 2TB WD Black in external eSATA case - Backup and exports
Trying to avoid Raid 0 due to fear of data loss, but would consider if there would be a considerable preformance boost. Thinking I can probably can get by with single drives since I will rarely, if ever be using more than two HD streams at a time.
Additional system info as follows:
i7 3770K processor
32 GB Corsair Vengence DDR3 SDRAM
Asus Sabertooth Z77 motherboard
GeForce GTX 660 - 2GB
Corsair Gold AX850 power supply
Thanks in advance for any imput.
I think your current plan is the best possible.
