Anyone? If you have any idea, please share. Thanks
Aha, very nice. Thanks! The only thing is missed there is a drop-down button to make it looks just like a classic Dropdown Combo.
well, there is more stuff missing. I can type numbers or other invalid characters into control. Which leads to my other post about filtering characters before they get onto the screen.
OK - well, the source is available, you could add the functionality you need, right?
Even better, extend it so that things like showing the combobox dropdown are properties.
For example, from the constructor...
public function AutoComplete()
//Make ComboBox look like a normal text field
editable = true;
//change the next line to reference a property...
rowCount = 7;
Am I free to use these samples for my own development?
Ok, it's working for me. More questions.
1. Is it possible using same logic to make a real combo working like this?
2. Real combo carries two values: Dispay and data. One to show, the other to store in database. So, tipical datasource for a combo looks liks this:
A dataField value defines which value Combo shows when data arrives to the Browser assuming that data binding in Flex works in a way data binding works:
if dataField is provided and its value matches ID in DS then no code is required to show the display value. If that's how Flex combo works then how to make this sample working in the same data binding way without a lot of coding? Or better yet ... see question #1.
You can get either property by doing
