Hi I'm using Indesign 5.5 and when I open an older CS4 file (which is resaved as CS5.5) , then copy the content (which has text boxes) into a new page (all in CS5.5) the text suddenly has hyphenation - where it does not in the previous document. I have closed all files down and turned off the hyphenate button in paragraphs, but it still hyphenates when I copy and paste. If I have both pages open at once, the original file has no hyphenation, but the new one does.
What can I do to prevent this, as I have to copy files into new layouts all the time and I am concerned that its going cause a lot of problems.
Moved to InDesign forum.
Sounds like the style definitions are different and the style in the new document allows hyphenation.
That's it!! Thanks Bob , your a legend.
I had changed the default in the paragraph tool bar - but the "basic paragrapg style" was still in hyphenate and as my text had no style set, it changed to match the default.
Thats great, thanks.
