I'm running InDesign CS6 on a windows 7 64 bit machine. I use it to lay out multiple newspapers on a weekly basis. My problem is this..
When I lay out our classified section which has 75-100 linked ads the program starts to run very very slowly, to the point that it isn't usable. As I scroll through the pages of the newspaper, all pages fly on by until I get to the classified section, then it goes line by line and very slowly.
I went into the plug in section and ran only the essential plug ins. When I do this, everything works fine. When I turn all the adobe extensions back on, the problem returns. I've tried just disabling the extensions I get error messages for when I open the file with everything disabled and still nothing. Also, I have no issues when using 5 or 5.5.
Any help would be appreciated.
Sounds like you should disable half the plugins at a time and check the result, then disable half of the half that's slow, and so forth until you isolate the plugin causing the problem.
That's what I ended up doing but was hoping I would avoid it. It ended up being the SharedContentUI plugin that was slowing everything down. Disabled that one and now everything is running smooth.
