Replacing bolded text with a character style sheet globally

I am designing a book for the first first time; the publisher's guidelines indicate that when there is body text that is bold or italic, rather than just making the text "bold" or "italic" within InDesign, it should have a new character style assigned to it. This is to facilitate making the text into an e-book, from what I understand.

The problem is, of course, is the manuscript is coming to me as a Word file. What is bolded in the Word file will come across as bold in InDesign when it's imported, but is there a simple way globally to search for every occurrence of, say Myriad Pro Bold, and then have that become a new character style sheet within the body text?

Otherwise, it's going to be a 260 page nightmare.

      Any tips appreciated!
