It's no surprise as Flex 3 is scheduled for commercial release early 2008: Flex 3 Planning
When your Flex Builder 3 expires, you will be able to use the Flex 3 SDK without Flex Builder: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flex/sdk/flex3sdk.html
You will have to edit your files in a Text Editor and compile using the command line.
It's a good workaround while waiting for Flex 3 to ship.
I think you should have gotten email from Adobe with a registration key that extends your beta period. I just used it on my beta and got another 100 days or so.

The registration key is in the text of this message.
I am interested in this also as I am a new user of Flex and have been using the trial version of Flex 2. My trial is about to end, so what I am thinking is that I am going to download the Flex 3 Beta that hopefully will buy me another 30 days. I'm definitely going to buy Flex but I don't want to buy something that is going to already be a version behind in 6 weeks. If worse comes to worst, I'll just have to use the command line until the final release of Flex 3. :(
