I have many h264s (down-converted from R3Ds) that I need to sync with external audio and then export with timecode that will match the original R3Ds. The timecode of the master files (r3ds) and h264s match, so I tried merging the h264 clips with their audio which worked but created new TC. How do I modify the TC of the new merged clip so that it matches its video source? Alternately, I'm open to a better workflow idea because this is going to take me weeks!
It does seem like you're doing more work than necessary. What is the goal here?
Can you "un merge" them?
What happens if you just link the video and audio (ie. not merge them).
(Does the TC remain correctly in the H264?)
Next what happens if you dont link them but just synch them?
I am assuming you are creaing an EDL for Reconform to Source footage
I can see that wont work afeter testing it.
What surprise me is that the you dont have the TC in the Merged clip.
My test did.
