How much free space do you have on your disk? Should have at least 10-20% free. So on a 500g drive that means 50-100 gigs free.
I have two hard drives and both seem to have plenty of space:
C: 758 GB of 919 GB
E: 1.47 TB of 1.81 TB
Likely a permission problem then. Are these internal or external, and what OS and PS verions you using?
The C drive is internal. The E drive is external.
I am using Windows 7.
Unfortuanately my CS6 stopped working so I'm stuck using PS7 for now.
But even when I was using CS5 and CS6 I was getting the same error message.

On both drives?
PS7 is such an ancient program it will not recognize a drive over 1T.
I understand. But as I mentioned, even when I was using the later versions I still got that error message.
As Curt has said, Photoshop 7 can't handle terabyte sizes. It's from an era where drives that large were unheard of.
I can't imagine that you were getting that same message from the newer versions unless a drive really was nearly full. I'm guessing you were either somehow inadvertently running some part of Photoshop 7.0, or you misinterpreted what you saw.
What's gone wrong with Photoshop CS5 or CS6 that you can't use them?
I bought the programs from someone and they worked for six months and then I got an error message saying I needed a certain file and to reinstall them.
But when I tried neither one would accept the same serial number I used to install them in the first place.
I know it was my fault for not buying it from Adobe but I just couldn't afford it
Ouch. Probably no fix for that. That the copies were pirated may have something to do with why they didn't work right.
Consider the Cloud Subscription model... Not too much per month:
Yes, I know. You get what you pay for huh?
Thank you for the link.
I didn't know I could pay monthly and it's at least affordable.
You might look into GIMP. It is free, not same as CS6, but might be on par with PS7.
With PS7 if you want to use HD over 1T you need to create a partition for it to use.
Thanks so much Curt!
