I have several plugins on my copy of CS6 that my colleague does not have. When I send him a file, he can open it by ignoring the message about missing plugins, but cannot create a book becuase he gets an error message about the plugins. When I made a book of the files and sent it to him, he could open it, but he was not able to perform any actions on the book—again for the same reason of the missing plugins.
I went to the Extension Manager, but none of my third-party pluagins show up on the list, so I cannot disable them, re-save the files, and send them to him.
Export to IDML. That should strip out the third party plug in info.
Unless, of course, those plugins are actually used and required for editing....
This was the pefect solution to our problem. I wish I had been able to find it sooner in the documentation. The logic makes sense and it will be useful in the future.
