    no HTML5 allowed

    mobly Level 3

      Hi Guys

      I think this is a daft question, but I have a large corporate client who does not yet allow html5 on their website, they are sticking with flash for animation for now.

      However, I'm still keen to use Edge animate for a simple pop up html window with basic functions, is there a simple way to know what can be done with animate that is not HTML5?

      Thanks for your help, you can see I'm not a coder!!

          there is very little, if any, HTML5 in Edge animate.

          What animate produces is javascript and css-based animations and effects.

          Follow one of the tutorials, create a basic animation, shouldn't take more thn 5 or 10 minutes.

          export the page out and test it in a browser

          open the HTML file in Notepad or something.

          Change the first couple of lines from :

          <!DOCTYPE html>

          to an HTML4 one, for example this site uses :

          <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

          <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">

          save, re-open in a browser, still works??? Your Animate file is now running in HTML4 , congratulations.

            actually I just started to think that was the case, as I popped over to Hype, and did some tests with basic animation and it didnt throw up any errors on some old browsers, is there something similar we can see in animate?

            IE a visual display of compatabilty with older browsers?

            Thanks for the reply though!
