    "Missing Keywords Folder" is missing

How do I get the subject folder back?

What do you mean by "Missing Keywords Folder", I've never heard of such a thing. Or do you mean the "Without Keywords" Smart Collection? If the latter, and you've deleted it, then simply recreate it:

            Jim,

I did as you suggested but there must be something unique about the folder Adobe created for the folder just sits there. I shutdown LR4 and restarted it and still no activity.

What do you mean by "it just sits there"? Do you mean it has a 0 count? How many are you expecting to see there....click on All Photographs, open the Metadata filter bar, select Keywords in the first column and read off the value against "None". What does it say?

                Hi Jim Hix,

Do not confuse "folder" with "collection".

A folder is a storage bucket which you will find also in Win-Explorer / Mac-Finder.

A collection is something inside Lightroom only, either a "dumb" one - where you specify which images  belong into it, arbitrarily and fixed.

Or a "smart collection", which is like a filter, that will continuously fill according to specified criteria - like the one saying "images which have no keywords assigned".

This is why you can most often check via the filter panel how many images should show up there - like jim01403 has suggested.

                  Jim 1403,

I created a smart folder and named it "Without Keywords". I intentionally removed the keywords from three of my 92,000 images. None of  them were found by LR4. I changed the name to the singular and tried again. Still no images were found. Each time I shut LR4 down and restarted it.

                    Cornelia,

Please forgive my inarticulate description of my "Without Keywords" collection. The collection is still missing and I cannot get it back so far after recreating the collection as a smart collection. Any suggestions?

Jim, what was the answer to the question I asked in post #3? What result do you get for images with no keywords if you use the Metadata Filter Bar?

Jim01403's criterion for the smart collection is good, it should work.

In older versions of LR there was no choice for "is empty", so you had to circumvent it by "does not contain" "a, e, i, o, u" or you even had to enumerate more letters of the alphabet, so that the criterion could only be met by really empty keyword fields.

So yes, for trouble-shooting check what the corresponding results via filter bar are, and re-check on these individual 3 images that they really have no keyword left (keyword panel, right-hand side in Library).
