compile from more than one source file?

Sorry I don't know why, but I can't figure this out!

Basicly my questions is "can you teach me everything you know about useing the mxmlc compiler by command line?"

I'm trying to get an as3 IDE on a very old and slow ubuntu computer and I've been having a ton of trouble. So far I've managed to set up a program called Geany and get it to do error checking on as3 code, but when it comes time to compile all it will do for me is call up a terminal and throw in some commands to mxmlc.

My main problem is that I don't know how to get mxmlc to compile my "preloader.as" and my "main.as" into one swf. I've been trying to find out how to do this for days, but all I've managed to find either doesn't work, I don't understand or is for mxml.

I'll be happy as long as I can compile all my files into a .swf, but I really want to learn more about programming. What I really want is to try to set up Geany to work propperly with mxmlc so don't be afraid to give me a load of homework.
