Well, I answered my own question! Even though the hyperlink in the email displayed the path using a drive mapping (e.g. G:/Folder1/Folder2/...), the hyperlink actually stored the file's fully described location (e.g. //server name/Folder0/Folder1/Folder2...). I updated my privileged folder description in Adobe to the latter and now the links work. Yeah!
