You can use Query Builder to create a query and search for example on the sling:resourceType parameter. For example using
you can try to search using this kind of query:
Another thing is to check component report in the tools, but I think you need to customize it a little bit.
thanks for your quick answer...I tried
and the result was
Number of hits: 1
Time: 0.16 seconds
- /apps/mywebsite/components/scrollable/html.jsp/jcr:content (html, json)
So how do I have to read it? I see 1 number of hits, that I assume it's how many times it's used from other files...but how do I actually see how many times it's used on all our pages?
Sorry for this newbie question, but only now I'm getting deeper in CQ5
if your scrollable component has set some value for sling:resourceType you can use the query proposed by me and then you will see how many nodes is created under /content path with this specific sling:resourceType value. You check this in the CRXDE Lite and navigate to /apps/mywebsite/components/scrollable and then check properties.
Of course you can search using other properties like jcr:title for this component or even jcr:description, but you have to have sure that values for those properites are unique and not any other component for example has the same jcr:title.
if you want to check how many pages are using specific component, path must be set to /content not to /apps where there is only implementation for you component. In other case you always have a number of hits 1.
- in "edit..." choose a root path
- Then click on the column "Component type" on the drop-down button, which appears, when you hover of the colum title. Select "Group by this column".
- You see a list of all components along with the number how often they are used.
