      At 0:15, the rectangular stuff (not the curvy videocopilot evolution designs):



      Looks like a plug-in to me. Any idea what it might be?

          Effect --> Stylize --> Vegas applied to rectangle shapes or shape layers with repeaters and animated strokes. I'm sure there's a million otehr ways once you start thinking about it. and yes, this could have been doen with the good old Gridlines effect from Digital Anarchy, but this is a dead legacy product and it's doubtful some kid rehashing VC tutorials would even be aware of it, much less own it...

            Are you talking of the Rectagular animation in the BG?


            If that is so then you can create this animation using Vegas Effect and then a  time expression for looping the animation.

            There is also a Preset which resembles to this from Adobe. Go to Animation>Browse Presets> Backgrounds > Circuit.
