Please delete your application preferences-
by either one of them-
1) "Hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) when you start up Photoshop elemets editor to reset the preferences.
2)Go to Edit >> Preferences >> general and choose Reset prefereces on the next launch.

Unfortuately, this didn't work. I now suspect I have broader problems, as when I go to Help>>Photoshop Elements Help, I get a message that states "There was an error initializing the Adobe Help application. You may need to reinstall the application and the Help component."
If there is a way to re-download Elements 11, I haven't found it yet.
If you purchased the download for the Adobe store or an online outlet such as Amazon, try installing from a different source. Use the link below to download the trial version (it’s identical to the full product) and then use your serial number to make it permanent.
Before you start, uninstall PSE11 via the control panel or uninstaller.
