I have had the free trial of Adobe Indesign installed onto my works laptop., We have purchased the full version and I am waiting for out ICT section to install. CS6 is the 1st version of Indesign to be installed onto this laptop. I have been sent a document created in CS4, to amend. When I try and open this document in CS6 i get an error, saying it does not recognise the format of the file? Is it the case that I will not be able to open any pre-CS6 version files?
The file is likely corrupt. CS6 should be able to open an InDesign file
from any earlier version.
Did you double-click the file or did you try to accomplish a File > Open from within InDesign? Compare and see.
