1. Re: Symbol with text?
Mylenium Feb 6, 2013 1:01 AM (in response to ThomasBB83)Perhaps it uses a blending mode that would require flattening, which of course may not work with spot colors. Also the layer for the text could be set to not print. check that by double-cliccking it in the layers palette.

Steve Fairbairn Feb 6, 2013 1:35 AM (in response to ThomasBB83)What colour is the lettering? Is it maybe white set to overprint?
If so, remove the overprint and always remember to use Overprint Preview when checking your artwork

I tried flattening, but it didn't seem to make a difference. There's only one layer, from what I can see.
@steve
The colour is white. Selecting "Overprint fill" and "Overprint stroke" doesn't make a difference. How would i remove the overprint?
If I go to Overprint Preview, though, something interesting happens. If i mouse-over the boxes, the text shows. Not in the original white-color, but in a light-blueish colour.. what gives? :-)

dougofakkad Feb 6, 2013 3:05 AM (in response to ThomasBB83)at a guess, smart guides is on and light blue is your layer colour

5. Re: Symbol with text?
ThomasBB83 Feb 6, 2013 3:07 AM (in response to dougofakkad)Light blue does indeed seem to be the layer colour. Disabling smart-guides removes the "mouse-over effect" (so no text is shown at all).

6. Re: Symbol with text?
dougofakkad Feb 6, 2013 3:50 AM (in response to ThomasBB83)with overprint preview on, deselecting 'overprint fill' in the attributes panel for the text has no effect?

7. Re: Symbol with text?
ThomasBB83 Feb 6, 2013 4:24 AM (in response to dougofakkad)I'm unable to select only the text, so the "overprint fill" option is disabled.

8. Re: Symbol with text?
dougofakkad Feb 6, 2013 4:32 AM (in response to ThomasBB83)someone else can probably confirm this, but i'd guess you will have to edit the symbol definition, in that case.
