I work for an organization that publishes documents in PDF format for which security leaks are a concern, but so is ease of access. Is there a way that we can automatically generate unique, identifiable watermarks or footers for each organization to which we distribute our reports? The reports are accessed through our secure website, which requires a unique log-in. Is there some way to use knowledge of the user (based on the required website log-in) to generate the watermarks or footers?
You can't run Acrobat on a server, so the only way to do it would be to use another product. Adobe has LiveCycle ES3, and there are PDF manipulation libraries for PHP, Java, etc. available from a variety of sources.
I have a smiliar issue. I have one default pdf that we send out to about 400 clients, We would like to watermark each PDF with a unique client ID using some sort of scripting or bulk watermarking tool.
Do anyone have a recomended solution?
