I have Photoshop CS6 and am trying to use the Patch Tool (for the first time ever). I have adjusted a wide angle image using wide angle adapt and have corners of the image to "fill in" or patch. I'm trying to use Content Aware fill and/or patch tool but it fills the blank areas with a blurred and faded group of pixels. The patch and fill works if I use it within an image - ie not on blank parts of the image. Am I trying to do something that's impossible. One of the tutorials online said this was the way to deal with the adapted image.
I've found that for "edge filling" selecting the area(s), expanding the selection a few pixels into the image, then using Edit - Fill - Content Aware does the best.
With any use of Content Aware Fill there can be visible problems that need touching up of course.
Thanks Noel. I forgot about extending the pixels so will try that. It just seemed that there might be a transparency issue since what it was putting into blank and white spaces was transparent/faded as well as highly blurred. One particular corner was difficult to clone and a patch/fill would have been good. Thanks again!
