What's strange is that the videos show up perfectly on the web eReader called Readium. Additionally I have set in CSS:
And the videos adapt to the browser size. You would think this would render the same on iOS....who is smart enough to figure this out?
Hi John, I have the same issue publishing from InDesign. Please let me know if you have found a solution! Thanks
Have you tried to use media queries with your CSS. That way you might be able to set different sizes for your video.frame-1 element based on screen size of the device where it is used.
That has worked pretty nicely with HTML5 projects which are also used in different devices.
(I have very little experience of ePubs so I cant say for sure does it even support media queries)
It may still be worth of try.
I think EPUB3 supports media queries, but not EPUB2. (But I haven't created EPUB3 yet so take what I say with a "grain of salt.")
The video was too big. Reduced to 360px maximum width it displays perfectly. Any larger and the ipad scales the video, but leaves black bands in its wake! Thanks for the suggestions.
Steve, that is correct, media are not supported in version 2 but in version 3. Problem now is that only a view people have epbub reader software which is supporting version 3, at least with media. That's why I would recommend to wait a little bit up to the time to use it.
