    URL Validator

      Currently my application has a lot of forms where one of the pieces of information we are asking for is company url's, personal url's, stuff like that. What I'm looking for is a validator that can actually check to make sure that URL is valid in the same sense of how the built in EmailValidator works where you have the ability to set custom messages for each part that's wrong. Example following of how I use the EmailValidator

      <mx:EmailValidator id="emailV"
      required="false"
      source="{email}"
      property="text"
      invalidCharError="Invalid characters in your email address."
      invalidDomainError= "The domain in your email address is incorrectly formatted."
      invalidIPDomainError="The IP domain in your email address is incorrectly formatted."
      invalidPeriodsInDomainError="The domain in your email address has consecutive periods."
      missingAtSignError="Missing an at character in your email address."
      missingPeriodInDomainError="The domain in your email address is missing a period."
      missingUsernameError="The username in your email address is missing."
      tooManyAtSignsError="Too many at characters in your email address." />

      All of my research so far hasn't really turned up something that's concrete on functionality, most seem to explode when you throw a subdomain in there like www.google.com or throw https at it compared to regular http. Does anyone else feel like this would be a valuable asset to Flex? Which in my mind should already exist..
