creating a poster in the contact print module

    billsumner Community Member

I've been able to use the contact print area in earlier lightroom programs to create nice grid posters of events, characters in a play, etc. without any type under the images ie frame #s etc.   I'm stuck in LR4 and can't get rid of the type and also can't seem to expand out the images to fill the white space in the poster to have just a grid, perhaps with some dark lines around the images.   Is there a way to do this in LR4?  or do I have to do the whole thing in Photoshop or in design.

In the Print Module, right side top, in the <Layout Style> panel select <Custom Package>.

Then, on the left side under <Lightroom Templates> select any of the templates called "Custom ....".

Now on the right side in the <Cells> panel click on <Clear layout>. This will remove all cells.

Then in the same panel under <Add to Package> click on one of the small triangles and select <Edit>. Select a cell size you like. The newly created cell size will appear on the button, click it repeatedly to fill the page with cells.

Note: the photo will fill the cell completely only if you have cropped it to the same side ratio that the selected cell has. For instance, if you select square cells, you have to crop your images square, only then will it fill the cell.

Then, on the right side, higher up, in the <Image Setting> panel check the box <Inner Stroke>, choose a width for the stroke and select a color by clicking on the small square (by default it's white, I believe). This will give you the lines around the images.
