Moving this discussion to the Photoshop Elements forum. Bendofbay if you go to Help>Updates does the Adobe Application Manager identify that you need this update?
You update PSE11 from the application menu:
Help >> Updates..
Then install the latest plug-in ACR 7.3
I believe those links posted for the version 7.... acr downloads are for photoshop cs6 and that's why your getting the error message.
Thanks to the three posters.
This ACR is needed to view the RAW files from a Nikon D600 camera.
I upgraded from PSE9 to PSE11 a couple of weeks ago and have gone through the update steps at least twice, but to no avail.
The goal is to download ACR 7.2 (or 7.3 if there is such a version). (Based on the charts, PSE11 can use this version of ACR.) So the question is: How do I download 7.2 and then make sure it works on my PSE11?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 11\File Formats
You should see the following file:
Delete Camera Raw.8bi then follow these instructions:
1. Use the link below to download the plug-in.
2. Open the zip folder and on the menu click Extract all files; then click the Extract button.
3. Drag the file Camera Raw.8bi into the empty File Formats folder.
Please let us know if it works.
N.B. the download folder will only remain public for a limited period today. This is to prevent illegal uploads.
What exactly happens when you try Help>Updates from within the pse 11 editor?
Your on a mac and if so which version of OS X?
I believe that Bendofbay is using a mac system with pse 11.
It would be much preferable to use Help>Updates, so I also am curious as to what happens when Bendofbay tries.
