1) You can check the upload status of your file using the "cffile.serverFile" parameter.
2) Then specify the pathname relative to the web root in the "source" attribute of your <cfimage> tag with the action attribute set to="resize"

you do not have to do anything - cf will know when the file has finished
uploading as long as you are using <cffile> to do it.

not possible. at least not without some client-side applet or activeX
look into using cf's directorywatcher gateway as i suggested in reply to
your other post.
