Do I need to save my project before I render it? I had worked fairly hard on my project for a while and then rendered it. Only to realize that it had been rolled back in time to where I had saved it last. I only pressed render, I tried to recover my project but I couldn't. I probably did something wrong unkowningly. My humanities project due today is all gone. I'm pretty sure I can't get it back, but what did I do wrong?
You should always save your project. Always. Worked for a few minutes? Save. Walking away? Save. Rendering? DEFINITELY SAVE. I've never heard of it rolling back to a prior save or anything, so I'm sure something else happened, but you should still save often and always.
But not just regular save. You should learn to use the Increment and Save feature so that you have multiple versions to go back to in case something gets corrupted or a client changes their mind.
