Try this test and tell me why BBEdit's GREP feature works without any problem and can't do the same task on Dreamweaver CS6's Regular Expressions. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
After loading a long text to create HTML page, I need to add a simple <br> tag at the end of each line of the code.
Details of the Test:
This is BBEdit's Pattern used on Find Window that works PERFECT:
Why can't do this simple task on Dreamweaver CS6 on Mac OS X with Regular Expressions on the code? Don't works and ignore the pattern. I try another patterns that are similar and don't works also.
And DW Find's window dissapears after pressing the replace all button, that's annoying.
Thank you, Kenneth, got the solution with your help:
I see the syntax of Regex on DW is different than BBEdit.
But seems to be a bug of Dreamweaver because "$ (dollar)" must do the work instead of using \n.
Check the concept of $ (dollar):
$ (dollar): Matches at the end of the string the regex pattern is applied to. Matches a position rather than a character. Most regex flavors have an option to make the dollar match before line breaks (i.e. at the end of a line in a file) as well. Also matches before the very last line break if the string ends with a line break.
