Hi, I want to export a Word 2010 document (DOCX) containing transparent objects (graphics, images) as a PDF/A-1a complaint PDF file using Acrobat XI's PDF export plug-in (PDFMaker, version 11).
Every transparent object gets a gray or black background.
Adobe Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.1 (32-bit)
Microsoft Word 2010 (32-bit)
Windows 7 and Windows 8 (both 64-bit)
I know, that PDF/A-1a doesn't allow transparency, but Acrobat X's PDFMaker (version 10) and Word 2010's own PDF export are handling it well -> white background.
NOTE: This only happens if PDF/A-1a compatibility/compliance is selected, not for PDF/A-1b etc.
Any suggestion how to fix this?
Otherwise I would have to reinstall Acrobat X, which has less PDF/A fixing capabilities...
I am not an expert in getting the PDF/A option, but if you know the settings you might be able to change them in the settings file (will have to rename) or in the other preferences to meet the need. At least something you might look at. If you can compare the settings to those in AAX it might help.
Well, exporting the Word document as PDF/A-1b with tags and then saving it as PDF/A-1a with Acrobat works. It's just not that comfortable as a direct PDF/A-1a export out of Word would be. What I don't understand is that it worked quite well with the previous version Acrobat X.
